Moor Lane, Lunt, Sefton. L29 7WL Named after a local farming family, this low lying land is next to the River Alt and prone to flooding. Showicks bridge links this site to Lydiate and the Trans Pennine Trail. Bordering the south of this site is Sefton Meadows Wood through which you can walk to Sefton Village. Tree planting here has been limited to wetland species connecting some small older woods leaving valuable open habitat, including cropped field, for skylarks to nest in and barn owls to hunt over. Ditches here have a good population of water voles, which are threatened elsewhere. This woodland is popular with birdwatchers.
